due in 20 minutes help! :( The attendance of your club increased by 30% from last year. There are 195 people in the club now. How many people were in the club last year? ( provide steps )

suppose,

Last year there were x people in the club last year

now,

The attendance of the club increased by 30% from last year

At present the amount of people are in the club =x+(x . 30%)

=x+(x . 30/100)

=x+(30x/100)

= (100x+30x)/100

=130x/100

Given that,

There are 195 people in the club now

∴130x/100=195

=>130x=19500 [multiply both sides by 100]

=>x=19500 /130 [divide both sides by 130]

=>x=150

150 people were in the club last year
