The average distance from Earth to the Moon is 384,000 km.

How many hours would it take, traveling at 800 kilometers per
hour (km/h)—the typical speed of jet aircraft—to reach the
Moon? How many days is this? How many months?

Answers:

1) Time it takes to travel to the moon

Velocity
V is defined as:

V=(d)/(t)

Where:

d=384,000 km is the average distance from Earth to the Moon

V=800 km/h is the velocity of the spacecraft

t the time

Isolating
t:

t=(d)/(V)

t=(384,000 km)/(800 km/h)

t=480 h This is the time in hours

2) Time in days

A day is equivalent to 24 hours:

1 day= 24 h

Hence:

t=480 h ((1 day)/(24 h))

t=480 h ((1 day)/(24 h))=20 days This is the time in days

3) Time in months

A month is equivalent to 30.4 days:

1 month= 30.4 days

Hence:

t=480 h ((1 day)/(24 h))

t=20 days ((1 month)/(30.4 days))=0.65 months This is the time in months
