Answer: 0.0039

Explanation:

Given : Total televisions = 240

Defective televisions = 15

The proportion of defective sets :
p=(15)/(240)=0.0625

Number of televisions selected = 2

Using binomial probability formula :

P(x)=^nC_xp^x(1-p)^(n-x)

The probability that they will both be defective :_

P(x=2)=^2C_2(0.0625)^2(1-0.0625)^0=(1)(0.0625)^2=0.00390625\approx0.0039

Hence, the required probability =0.0039
