Given the function f (x) = x² + 5, evaluate f (-10)

Answer:

f(-10)=105

Explanation:

When something says f(x), the (x) is your plugin value. So basically in this scenario, x= -10

1) f(-10)= (-10)^2+5

2)f(-10)= 100+5

3) f(-10)= 100+5

Ok hopefully I remembered my properties of exponents correctly, but I'm pretty sure that's the answer. If it isn't, you should try making the 100 negative instead of positive from step 2 and work from there.
