On a class trip, there were 45 more girls than boys. The total number of students on the trip was 211. Right in Savon equation to find a number of girls and the number of boys on the class trip.

The number of girls is 128 and the number of boys is 83

Explanation:

Let

x -----> the number of girls

y ----> the number of boys

we know that


x+y=211 ------> equation A


x=y+45 ----> equation B

substitute equation B in equation A and solve for y


y+45+y=211\\2y+45=211\\2y=211-45\\y=166/2\\y=83

Find the value of x


x=83+45=128

therefore

The number of girls is 128 and the number of boys is 83
