first say the entire problem aloud

"7 wholes and 1 half"

Now think, how many half's are in one whole?

so if there were 2 half's in each whole and there were 7 wholes, you would multiply 7x2

Then simply add the other half you started with

15 halfs.

then turn it into a fraction.
