Which part of the neuron below is indicated by the arrow, and what is its function?

(image is missing)

A) The axon carries information through electrical impulses away from the cell body to the axon terminals.
B) The axon contains the nucleus that controls all the activities of the cell.
C) The dendrites regulate the substances that go in and out of the cell. The dendrites carry the electrical impulses from the signal receivers to the cell body.

Answer: Can’t see the picture, but I know that it’s NOT B.

Step-by-step explanation:

The axon’s purpose is to send electrical signals away from the cell body and to the axon terminals. It looks like one really long branch with small bits of myelin sheath around it until it reaches the small axon terminals on the end.

Again, we can’t see the picture, but if it’s the dendrites that the arrow is pointing to, then that would be the small branches around one end of the cell body and they receive signals through the sensory nervous system. If it’s pointing to the axon then it’s the long part, if it’s the dendrites then it’s the fingerlike branches on the opposite end of the cell body.

Sorry I couldn’t help more. I would have been able to tell you more if I could see a picture, but hopefully this helps. Good luck!
