Canada is not a sovereign nation as it is still a country under the common realm, and thus is subject to the British royal crown. Internationalism calls for nation to pursue international interests in the place of their local political,military and economic aspirations. would Canada have been a sovereign nation, its interests would be superseded upon by international interests. It is still a contention what amount of sovereignty any country is willing to forego for the sake of nationalism, but among the four aspects, territorial sovereignty is the most rigid to the concept.
