Explanation:

Given,

The measurement of the garden = 16-ft-by-20-ft,

That is, length of garden = 16 ft,

Width of garden = 20 ft,

If plot is obtained after surrounding the garden by 2 ft wide wall,

So, length of plot = 16 + 4 = 20 ft,

Width of plot = 20 + 4 = 24 ft,

So, the perimeter of the entire plot = 2 ( length + width )

= 2 ( 20 + 24 )

= 88 ft
