9-4x+7x=15

9+3x=15

move 9 to the other side

sign changes from +9 to -9

9-9+3x=15-9

3x=6

Divide by 3 for both sides

3x/3=6/3

Cross out 3 and 3, divide by 3 and then becomes 1*1*x=x

x=2

Answer: x=2

For this case we must solve the following equation:

9-4x + 7x = 15

We add similar terms from the left side of the equation:

9 + 3x = 15

We subtract 9 from both sides of the equation:

3x = 15-9\\3x = 6

Dividing by 3 on both sides of the equation:

x = \frac {6} {3}\\x = 2

Answer:

x = 2
