snog used unitary method to find the answer.

ALITER:-

Given,

Potatoes peeled in 6 minutes = 18

Let, potatoes cooked in 50 minutes = k

Here, more the time passes, the more the assistant peels potatoes.

∴ It is a case of direct variation,

where,

x/y = k (constant)

So, 18/6 = k/50 (potatoes peeled/time)

⇒ k = 3 × 50 = 150 (answer).

Answer:

150 potatoes

Explanation:

Since the assistant can peel
18 potatoes in
6 minutes, we know that he can peel
(18)/(6)=3 potatoes in
1 minute. Therefore, he will be able to peel
3*50=150 potatoes in
50 minutes. Hope this helps!
