Answer:

average velocity comes out to be 24 mile/hr

Explanation:

given,

15 minutes to drive 6.0 miles in a straight line

10 minutes to go the last 3.0 miles

2.0 minutes to go the last mile

30 seconds to go the last 0.50 miles

average velocity = total displacement/ total time

displacement is the shortest distance hence total displacement = 6 miles

total time = 15 min = 15/60 = 0.25 hrs

average velocity =
(6)/(0.25)

= 24 mile/hr

hence, average velocity comes out to be 24 mile/hr
