The Orthodox Churches's beliefs are similar to other churches, such as the belief that God revealed himself in Jesus Christ, and a belief in the incarnation of Christ, his crucifixion and resurrection.

The features of communion in Orthodox Church are:

  • The person reeving communion must have love for all in the heart and must pray and receive the communion fasting.
  • When one receives communion, it means that Jesus has come to live in the person. In other words, the one who receives communion becomes an icon or representation of Jesus.
  • Communion is received by drinking wine that become blood of Jesus from a special cup called chalice.
