You can change 4/10 to 40/100 and add to 3/100 for 43/100

Answer:

(43)/(100)

Explanation:

(4)/(10)+(3)/(100)

What we're going to want to do here is make the bases (the bottom numbers) equal to each other before you add.

We do this by multiplying 4/10 by 10/10, which we can do because we're technically multiplying something by 1, which doesn't ever change anything.

((4)/(10)*(10)/(10))+(3)/(100)

simplify

(40)/(100)+(3)/(100)

Now that the bases are the same, we can add the top values.

(40)/(100) +(3)/(100)=(43)/(100)
