Explanation:

as much more times as 30 is larger than 9.

and we get this by simply dividing 30 by 9 to see how often 9 fits into 30 :

30/9 = 10/3 = 3.33333333... = 3 1/3

so, 30 t-shirts (if they have the same unit price) cost 3 1/3 times more than 9 t-shirts.

Answer:

30 t-shirts costs 10/3 or 3.33(repeating) times more than 9 shirts.

Explanation:

Say that the price of one t-shirt is "x". Then, to get the price of 30 t-shirts you would multiply 30 by x, so 30x. Now, to get the price of 9 t-shirts you do 9x. If we want to know how much more 30 t-shirts costs than 9 t-shirts you have to divide the price of 30 t-shirts by the price of 9 t-shirts:

(30x)/(9x)

You may cancel the x, since it appears both in the numerator and the denominator, and we have the following:

(30)/(9)

Simplifly the fraction by dividing both the numerator and the denominator by 3:

(30/3)/(9/3)=(10)/(3)=3.33 repeating.
