Answer:

x=37/5 ; x=51/5

Explanation:

x - 2/5= 7

here,

x-2/5

LCM of denominators(1 &5)=5

5 (LCM of denominators) divided by the denominator of x(which is 1)= 5/1 =5

then,

5 multiply with numerator of x (which is x) = 5x

again,

5 (LCM of denominators) divided by the denominator of 2/5(which is 5) = 5/5=1

then,

1 multiply with numerator of 2/5 (which is 2)= 1 x 2 =2

so,

the fraction is,

(5x-2)/7

which is = 7

so,

(5x-2)=35 [multiplied by 5 on both site ]

5x=35+2 [add 2 on both site]

5x=37

x=37/5 [divided by 5 on both site]

similarly,

x + 4/5 = 11

=>(5x+4)/5=11

=>5x+4=55 [multiplied by 5 on both site ]

=>5x=55-4 [subtraction by 4 on both site]

=>5x=51

=>x=51/5 [divided by 5 on both site]
