How does the shape of the earth and its tilted axis influence where terrestrial communities are found?

One major factor that is influenced by the shape of the earth and its tilt is temperature. It varies across the earth due to differences in the way the sun rays ‘hit’ different parts of the earth. This causes some regions to be colder and some warmer than others. This, therefore, causes terrestrial organisms in regions to vary due to their adaptation to their respective environments. Warmer regions usually have higher biodiversity than colder regions.
