y = ½x + 4

4 = ½[0] + b

4 = b

Parallel lines have SIMILAR RATE OF CHANGES [SLOPES], so the 4 remains in the m spot, plug in the ordered pair into the equation, then solve for b. This is your new equation once done:

y = ½x + 4
