Honestly It is very important for your rights to be protected by the government. Without our rights today being protected by the government, we would not be able to do half the things we're able to do or say freely today. Take China for example, their government limits what people can do or say today. Because of this, people aren't allowed to live as freely as people in the US do today. We have these rights because our government protects them, and they can't be taken away by anyone. In fact, the United States became the country it has today because these rights were threatened when we were only colonies.
