Answer:

y = 5x -12

Explanation:

point-slope form:

y - y1 = m(x-x1)

m= slope

m= (y2-y1)/ (x2-x1)

we have (4, 8) and (2,-2)

x1 = 4 y1= 8

x2= 2 y2= -2

m=( -2-8) / (2- 4)

m= -10/ -2

m= 5

so we have:

y - 8 = 5(x-4)

y - 8= 5x -20

y= 5x -20 +8

y = 5x -12
