Sympathetic is a fight or flight situation. on the other hand Parasympathetic maintain homeostasis of the body. It works to rest and digest the situation. both are opposite to each other. Heart rate, pulse rate increased during sympathetic but rest in the para sympathetic system. In the sympathetic system, sweating, pupil dilation occurs. para system work when you are at resting and relaxing.
