Customers of a phone company can choose between two service plans for long distance calls. The first plan has a $25 monthly fee and charges an additional $0.16 for each minute of calls. The second plan has a $29 monthly fee and charges an additional $0.11 for each minute of calls. For how many minutes of calls will the costs of the two plans be equal?

Explanation:

plan A = $25. + $0.16/min

plan B = $29 + $0.11/min

let x be no of minutes and combine both eqns...

=> 25 + 0.16x = 29 + 0.11x

=> 0.05x = 4

x = 80minutes

thus at 80mins both plans shall be equal at a cost of $37.80
