b is going to give you the place in the y-axis where the line is going to intersect, in this case you will go down 5 from 0 because is -5, if it was a positive number you will go up.

x is going to give you the rise over the run (rise/run) so if you have 4/5x, you will go up 4 and right 5 each time to get a new point.
