Ariel noticed that her outdoor faucet was driping. She later determined that it was dripping 10 drops every minute. If 20 drops equals to 1 ml how many liters per year is a faucet leaking?

(can you please break it down and explain so that I can understand?)

Answer:

262.8 Liters per year

Explanation:

10 drops per min mean 0.5 mL per minute

How many minutes are there in a year??

60 minutes in 1 hour

24 hours in 1 day

365 days in 1 year

So,

60*24*365 = 525,600 minutes per year

0.5 mL per minute and in 525,600 minutes, that is:

0.5 * 525,600 = 262,800 mL per year

Converting this to liters (1000 mL is 1 Liter):

262,800/1000 = 262.8 Liters per year
