tis noteworthy that the slope is negative, meaning the line is dropping down from left-to-right, so is lower on the right-side, namely it has a negative "rise".

Slope can be called "rise over run" meaning that the numerator is the vertical distance between points and the denominator is the horizontal distance between points.
