Explanation:

let the length of the rectangle be x

hence, the width of the rectangle is (x-7)

perimeter of a rectangle=2(l+w)

78=2(x+x-7)

78=2(2x-7)

78=4x-14

4x=78+14

x=92/4

therefore x or length=23 m

hence,width will be (x-7) or (23-7)=16m

Answer:

length = 23 m

width = 16 m

Explanation:

perimeter of a rectangle= p = 2*L+2*w

p = 78 =2*L+2*w

w=width

L=length

w = L-7

78 =2*L+2*w

78= 2L+2( L-7)

78= 2L+2L - 14

78+14= 4L

4L=92

L=92/4

L= 23 m = length

so we have:

w = L-7

w= 23-7= 16 m = width
