Bob works for the circus and on the day he sold 8 adult tickets and 5 child tickets for a total of $180.50. On the second day Bob recieved $261.00 for 12 adult tickets and 6 child tickets. What is the price of a child's ticket and what is the price of an adult's ticket? Show work

The price of an adult's ticket is $18.5 and the price of a child's ticket is $6.5

Explanation:

Let

x ------> the price of an adult's ticket

y -----> the price of a child's ticket

we know that

8x+5y=180.50 ------> equation A

12x+6y=261.00 ------> equation B

Solve the system by graphing

Remember that the solution of the system is the intersection point both graphs

The solution is the point (18.5,6.5)
