given ,

Length is 6 inches longer than it’s width

So now ,

Let width be x inches

And the length be 6 + x inches

Now ,

Using perimeter of rectangle formula ,

=> 2(l+w)

=> 2 ( 6+ x + x ) = 76 ( since the perimeter is given to be 76 inches)

On solving ,

=> 2(6 + 2x ) = 76

=> 12 + 4x = 76

=> 4x = 76-12

=> 4x = 64

=> x = 16

Now ,

Width , x = 16 inches

And length , 6 + x = 6+16 = 22 inches
