Can someone help me with the questions below ?

Read the poem and answer the following questions.

I wish someone would tell me
What it is that I've done wrong.
Why I've had to stay chained up
And left alone so long.
They seemed so glad to have me
When I came here as a pup.
There were so many things we'd do
While I was growing up.
They couldn't wait to train me
As a companion and as a friend.
And told me how they would never fear
Being left alone again.
The children said they'd feed me
And brush me every day.
They'd play with me and walk me
If only I could stay.
But now the family "hasn't time";
They often say I shed.
They won’t allow me in the house,
Not even to be fed.
The children never walk me.
They always say, "Not now!"
I wish that I could please them.
Won't someone tell me how?
All I had, you see, was love.
I wish they would explain.
Why they said they wanted me,
Then left me on a chain.

Questions :
1. Who does the ‘I’ refer to in the poem?
2. Why is it chained? How do you know this?
3. what were the promises made to it when it was young?
4. Describe the feelings of the animal as it sits tied to a chain.

Answer and explanation:

1. 'I' refer to the dog as you can see through the poem.

2. It is chained because the children, family bought the dog but not let the dog go with them, not play, walk with the dog.

3. They promise to feed the dog, promise to walk , brush the dog everyday

4. The feelings of animales as it sits to a chain is like: Just imagine you are a person and you are chained for the whole day long, sometimes without anyone given food or water, how would you feel?

Hope this helped !
