g(x)=-7x+7

We have to determine that whether 5 is in the domain or not for the above functions.

Domain is the set of values , for which the function is defined. Here in f(x) , we have an square root . The value inside the square root must be greater or equal to 0. Hence

x+3≥0

x≥-3

and 5≥-3

Hence 5 is in the Domain of f(x)

In g(x) , it is a linear function , hence it is defined for all values of x. Hence 5 is in the domain .
