Answer: The value of an uncirculated nickel minted in Philadelphia is $21. The value is $28 in Denver.

Explanation:

This can be solved by deriving two expressions from the information in the question. These two expressions can be intersected and solved.

Let the value of an uncirculated nickel minted in Philadelphia be x.

Let the value or an uncirculated nickel minted in Denver be 4/3x.

x+4/3x = $49

7/3x = $49

x = $21

Therefore 4/3x = 4/3×$21 = $28.
