A box contains 88 green marbles and 18 white marbles. If the first marble chosen was a green marble, what is the probability of choosing, without replacement, a white marble?

Explanation:

Given : Number of green marbles in the box =88

Number of white marbles in the box = 18

Total marbles : 88+18=106

If the first marbles is already chosen was a green, then the number of white marbles remains same but the total marbles will be 105

Now, the probability of choosing, without replacement, a white marble :-


(18)/(105)=(6)/(35)

The probability of choosing, without replacement, a white marble =
(6)/(35)
