2 7/16 -3/4

Find the common denominator which is 16

Multiply by 4 for 3/4

3*4=12

4*4= 16

2 7/16-12/16

change the mixed number to improper fraction

Multiply the denominator and whole number

16*2= 32

32 plus the numerator

32+7= 39

39/16-12/16= 27/16

1 11/26

because subtract the numerator and denominator to get 11

Answer: 1 11/16

For this case we must find the value of the following expression:

2 \frac {7} {16} - \frac {3} {4}

We have to:

2 \frac {7} {16} = \frac {16 * 2 + 7} {16} = \frac {32 + 7} {16} = \frac {39} {16}

Rewriting the expression we have:

\frac {39} {16} - \frac {3} {4} = \frac {4 * 39-16 * 3} {16 * 4} = \frac {156-48} {64} = \frac {108 } {64} = \frac {54} {32} = \frac {27} {16}

Answer:

\frac {27} {16} = 1 \frac {11} {16}
