I know this is already answered, but I kinda want to simplify this for you.

Decimals aren’t as scary as they seem. And when you’re looking for the largest one? You’re basically looking for the decimal that’s closest to the number one.

“What the heck does that mean?!” Well, let me explain...

A decimal number is basically part of one. For example, if we had .5, that number is half of one. .5+.5=1. Easy as that.

Now, if we were looking for the highest decimal we would need to see how for away from one all of them are...

1.0 1.00 1.00
-0.7 -0.67 -0.86
—— ——- -——
0.30 0. 33 0.14

.86 is the closest number to 1; it must be the greater decimal!

A really basic way to think about it is to try to see which decimal is closest to becoming a whole number. .86 is the closest because it is only .14 points away from becoming a 1; it’s almost there!

Hope this helped you understand a little better!!

Answer:

0.86

Explanation:

This is surprisingly easy.

Just find the one with the biggest value in the biggest decimal place.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, you shouldn't be here.
