While carrying out a research, maintaining a record is one of the most important aspect. Everything including the procedure and the result should be noted down. Maintaining a record helps to review them in future.

The data should have same system of measurements as scientific investigation because if there is not any one system, peer review will be unable to give the details about the experiment, or check if the data is correct or not. It would also affect the authenticity of the data that is found. It might be inferred as the result has come by chance and not a trust-able one.
