Answer: Hi, so here we have two equations

1) x+ y = 7

2) x = y +3

in the equation (2) we have the value of x, and we can replace it in the equation (1), then:

x + y = 7

(y + 3) + y = 7

2*y = 7 - 3 = 4

y = 2.

then, we can put y = 2 in the equation (2)

x = y +3

x = 2 + 3 = 5

so the solution is x = 5 and y = 2

Answer:

x=5, y=2

Explanation:

Add the equations

x=y+3 → x - y =3 → 2x =10 → x=5 then → y =x - 3= 2

x+y=7 x+y=7
