The lowest point of the st Lawrence river is 294 feet below sea level. The top of mt. Jacques Cartier is 1,277 feet above sea level. How many feet higher is the top of Mt. Jacques Cartier than the lowest point of St Lawrence River

1571 feet higher

Explanation:

Let sea level be at the point 0

So,

294 feet BELOW sea level would be -294

and,

1277 feet ABOVE sea level would be 1277

THe difference in height thus is:

1277 - (-294) = 1277 + 294 = 1571 feet higher
