Answer:

w=8 L = 34

Explanation:

P=2W+2L

L=4W+2

2W + 2(4W+2) = 84

2W + 8W +4 =84

10W=80

w=8

L=(8*4+2)=34

2(8) +2(34) = 16+ 68 = 84

Answer:

x=36;y=8.

Explanation:

x=length

y=width

the length of a rectangle is 2cm more than four times the width.

so,

x=2+4y....(1)

now,

the perimeter of the rectangle is 84 cm

so,

2(x+y)=84

x+y=42........(2)

2+4y+y=42

5y=40

y=8.........(3)

so,

x=42-8 [from 2 & 3]

x=36
