If the sin of angle x is and the triangle was dilated to be two times as big as the original, what would be the value of the sin of x for the dilated triangle? Hint: Use the slash symbol ( / ) to represent the fraction bar, and enter the fraction with no spaces.

Answer: 4/5

Step-by-step explanation: Took the test and got it right. I assumed it was the same because angles do not change after being dilated.

Answer:

Sin of x does not change

Explanation:

When we dilate a shape all the dimensions of the shape increases by a common factor.

sin(x)=\frac{\text{Opposite side}}{\text{hypotenuse}}

Here the scale factor is 2 as we are dilating to two times big

So,

sin(x)=\frac{2* \text{Opposite side}}{2* \text{hypotenuse}}

The 2 in the numerator and denominator get cancelled

sin(x)=\frac{\text{Opposite side}}{\text{hypotenuse}}

giving us the same sin of x.

∴ Sin of x does not change
