Answer:

In class B, the chart show that:

- 3 people (families) in the class have no vehicle

- 4 people (families) in the class have 1 vehicle

- 10 people (families) in the class have 2 vehicles

- 7 people (families) in the class have 3 vehicles

- 0 people (family) in the class have 4 vehicle

- 1 person (family) in the class have 5 vehicle

Explanation:

We know that the mean id calculated as the average of the data entries.

Now for class B we make a frequency table as follows:

Number of vehicles(x) Number of families(y) xy

0 3 0

1 4 4

2 10 20

3 7 21

5 1 5

Total number of families= 3+4+10+7+1= 25

∑ xy= 0+4+20+21+5= 50

Hence, the Mean is:


Mean=(\sum xy)/(Number\ of\ families)\\\\i.e.\\\\Mean=(50)/(25)\\\\i.e.\\\\Mean=2
