Answer:

-16,-48

Explanation:

Let the integers be x and y.

The difference between two integers is 32.

So,

x-y=32 ......(1)

Also,The ratio of these integers is 1:3.

So,

x/y=1/3 .......(2)

Using .....(2),-16-y

3x=y

Substituting the value of y in .....(1) we get,

x-3x=32

or,-2x=32

or,x=-16

Now using the value of y in .....(1),

-16-y=32

or,y=-16-32=-48

Answer:

16 and 48

Explanation:

let the 2 integers be x and 3x ← ratio 1 : 3

Then

3x - x = 32 ← difference between the integers

2x = 32 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 16

and 3x = 3 × 16 = 48

Since magnitude of difference is 32

We can also express the difference as

x - 3x = 32

- 2x = 32 ( divide both sides by - 2 )

x = - 16

and 3x = 3 × - 16 = - 48

The 2 integers are 16 and 48 or - 16 and - 48
