The perimeter of a triangle is 90 centimeters. If two sides are equally long and the third side is 9 centimeters longer than the​ others, find the lengths of the three sides.

Explanation:

Let the sides of that triangle are x, x, y cm.

Now as per statement of the question two sides are equal and third side is 9 centimeters longer than the others.

So y = x + 9

Now perimeter of the triangle is 90 cm

so x + x + y = 90

Now we replace the value of y from the equation given above

x + x + ( x + 9) = 90

3x + 9 = 90

3x = 90 - 9

3x = 81

x = 27 cm

Therefore, all three sides of the triangle are 27 cm, 27 cm, 36 cm
