Since ΔABC is isosceles then BC = AC, that is

5x - 25 = 2x - 7 ( subtract 2x from both sides )

3x - 25 = - 7 ( add 25 to both sides )

3x = 18 ( divide both sides by 3 )

x = 6

Hence

AC = 2x - 7 = (2 × 6) - 7 = 12 - 7 = 5 → C
