The answer is B. The first part of the formula finds the base area (both top and bottom) and the second part finds the lateral area of the cylinder. It could also be A but I don’t know if the BA includes both top and bottom.

For this case we have that by definition, the surface area of a cylinder is given by:


SA = LA + 2BA

Where:

LA: It is the lateral area given by,
LA = 2 \pi * r * h

BA: It is the area of the base,
BA = \pi * r ^ 2

We have to:

h: It is the height

r: It's the radio

So:


SA = 2 \pi * r * h + 2 \pi * r ^ 2

Answer:

Option B
