In figure ABCDE vertices A,B,C,D,E are given so we can find their sides by applying distance formula:

D=√(x2-x1)²+(y2-y1)²

With the help of this formula we can find AB.

D=√(-1-(-3))²+(3-1)²

D=√(-1+3)²+(2)²

D= √(2)²+(2)²

D=√4+4

D=√8

D=√2*2*2

D=2√2

It means AB=2√2

Like wise you can find BC=4, CD= √10, DE=√10 and EA=2√2

and FG=√2, GH=2, HI=1.58114, IJ= 1.58114 and JF=√2

When the two figures are similar then the ratios of their corresponding sides are equal.

Therefore AB/FG = BC/GH = CD/HI = DE/IJ = EA/JF

Thus these two figures are similar....
