Use the quadratic equation to solve this

Remember that quadratic functions are set up like so:

ax^(2) +bx +c = 0

That means that in this equation...

a = -3

b = -18

c = -35

^^^Plug these numbers into the quadratic equation and solve...

\frac{18+/-\sqrt{(-18)^(2)-4(-3)(-35)}}{2(-3)}

(18 +/-√(324+(-420)))/(-6)

(18+/-√(-96) )/(-6)

(18+/4i√(6) )/(-6)

(-9+/-2i√(6) )/(3)

Keep in mind that +/- is ±

(-9+2i√(6) )/(3)

(-9-2i√(6) )/(3)

^^^Exact answers

Hope this helped!
