Explanation:

The quickest way to do this is to calculate how far apart each corresponding coordinate is, then take HALF of that range:

From -8 to -9 → -1

From 7 to 11 → 4


- \frac {1}{2} = - (1)/(2) \\ \\ (4)/(2) = 2

-8 - ½ = -8½ [x-coordinate]

→ [-8½, 9]

7 + 2 = 9 [y-coordinate]
