A sample of pulse rates of men and women are used to construct a 95% confidence interval for the difference between the two population means, and the result is negative 12.2 less than mu 1 minus mu 2 less than minus 1.6, where pulse rates of men correspond to population 1 and pulse rates of women correspond to population 2. Express the confidence interval with pulse rates of women being population 1 and pulse rates of men being population 2. Choose the correct answer below.

Answer:

Explanation:

Given that a sample of pulse rates of men and women are used to construct a 95% confidence interval for the difference between the two population means.

-12.2<μ_1 -μ_2 < -1.6\\μ_1 = Men\\μ_2 = Women

If we want to change this women - men then we have

1.6<μ_1-μ_2<12.2\\μ_1 =women\\μ_2 =men

This is obtained by changing mu1 and mu2 and also changing negative to positive by reversing the inequality.
