Answer:

There are 210 people can be seated in the meeting room

Explanation:

* Lets explain how to solve the problem

- He sits in the fourth row from the front

- He sits in the twelfth row front the back

∴ His row is the 4th from the front and 12th from the back

- His row counted twice one from front and one from the back

- That means there are 3 rows front of his row and 11 rows back of

his row

∴ The number of rows in the meeting room = 11 + 3 + 1 = 15 rows

OR (12 + 4 - 1 = 15)

- There are 14 seats in each row

∵ Each row has 14 seats

- To calculate the number of seats in the meeting room multiply

the number of seats in each row by the numbers of the rows in

the room

∴ The number of seats in the meeting room = 14 × 15 = 210 seats

* There are 210 people can be seated in the meeting room
