How does survivor guilt reflect one’s mortality and values?

Answer:

They couldn't help the ones who didn't survive and maybe they feel that the others who didn't make it deserve to survive instead of him. It reflects on one's values by showing he has compassion ad that they deserved to survive as much as he did.

In a way other than feeling guilty obviously, from a personal experience they want to help as much as they can but they can never help enough because that’s their mentality. They become a doormat and feel obligated to help everyone in their sight good or bad just to find a sense of relief but that relief never comes. Depression also is a big factor to this problem as well as anxiety.
